thomasfitzpatrick:
When 5-year-old Elena Desserich was diagnosed with brain cancer, she began hiding hundreds of little love notes around the house for her parents to find after she was gone. Here’s the story:
Just before her sixth birthday, Elena Desserich (right) was diagnosed with brain cancer and given 135 days to live. She lived 255 days, passing away in 2007. After her death, Elena’s...

strange.
at lunch today, the woman who took my order complimented one of my tattoos. I thanked her, and she looked at me in a strange way and said “are you a pagan?” I didn’t know how to answer this question, oddly enough. I said “no, not really, I mean, uh…” and she gave me a quick explanation of how all religions are based on the same seven principles, smiled, and...
terrifying.
There was a tattoo trailer at the flea market today. just let that sink in. yes. a tattoo trailer.

Today I was eating lunch at the mall and noticed a girl about 16 years old nonchalantly putting quarters in every single candy machine on the first floor. She then took an escalator to the second floor and watched with a smile as kids became happy and excited when they discovered the money. She GMH.

Surprised a couple this morning in the stairwell. This was particularly awkward because they were my age or older, and they were not married to one another, based on seeing them and their respective families at the pool for the past three days.
And all I wanted was to get downstairs without the power going out in the elevator. That’ll teach me.

a big decision.
not really a big one, but I’ve just decided that every single day, I will stop at one of those random stands alongside the road and buy whatever it is that they are selling. Watermelon, peaches, apples, green beans, boiled peanuts, you name it. I’m broke, but I can afford a local bag of peaches, and I’d rather do that than go to Publix anyway.

The 10-year-old girl desperately wanted to see the new Disney-Pixar movie, “Up.” But the cancer-stricken girl was too sick to go to a theater.
Thanks to a family friend who got in touch with the movie studio Pixar, an employee of the Emeryville-based company arrived at Colby’s home with a DVD copy of the movie, The Orange County Register reported Friday. The girl died later...

i was sitting on the bus depressed and i had this little girl looking at me and smiled and asked “you look sad..did your fish die? my sisters fish died and she was sad..but then she got another one and was happy again so don’t worry..you can get another fish” and then got off the bus with her mom....

me: do you think that woman is a hooker?
him: maybe so. not that I've ever been with a hooker.
me: if you have any hooker stories, I don't want to hear them.
him: I don't. I mean, I don't think I do. I think that time it was a crack head.
me: I don't want to hear those stories either.
later, at a restaurant, a baby a few tables away singing very loudly.
him: I'll have what he's having!
me: I think it's breast milk.
him: then make it a double!
