My favorite vacation conversation so far, while listening to dance music in the car:
N: how do you know this song? Me: honey they’ve been playing this song in gay bars for the past fifteen years. G: how do you know that? Me: I did have a life before meeting you guys, you know. G gets real quiet, then says: you used to be….. Uh…. Me: no, I wasn’t gay, it’s just that I have a lot of gay friends, and usually they have better dance clubs! G: oh, well I mean you used to be a vegetarian and now you’re not, so I though maybe… Me: no honey, those are two separate things altogether.
